Coconut oil is gaining increasing popularity for its benefits on health, weight loss and skin. But I've seen people making a wrong move with it. I, too, was like many of them at first. But after so many years of using coconut oil, I've gained enough experience to share with you on how best to reap its benefits so you can stay tremendously healthy and wear beautiful skin for years to come.
Mistake 1 - Too Much Coconut Oil
After hearing so many good things about coconut oil and how it benefits our health and keeps our skin moisturized, smooth and supple, many people just can't wait to get their hands on it. And when they do, they eat a lot out of the jar.
Despite the fact that the more you eat, the stronger will be your immunity, you should not take too much of the oil in one sitting, especially you're just getting started with it.
Eating too much coconut oil can cause diarrhea-like effect for beginners because the tropical oil contains very strong detoxifying compounds that can stimulate bowel movement. But if you're already seasoned with its effect, you can take more of course.
Mistake 2 - Taking the Oil of Coconut as a Supplement
Coconut oil forms an essential part of my diet. Because of that, I'm very well protected against harmful bacteria, viruses and other super germs. So are my family.
But if you were to take it as a supplement, you'll still get to fall sick though not as frequent as you used to. I've been there. I was skeptical about how much coconut oil can do for my health when my husband was already excited about its health benefits on him. I still fell sick occasionally until I increase my intake to the level beyond taking it as a supplement.
I'm feeling extremely wonderful with my health now. This is so much better than using antiseptic liquid at home to keep us protected against germs and bacteria. I'm protected anywhere and everywhere I go.
It's actually very easy to make it a staple in your diet. Just replace your cooking oil with the oil of coconut. And that's it.
Mistake 3 - Freaking Out on Breakout
When using coconut oil on your skin, even if your skin is not acne-prone, you may experience a breakout reaction.
Some people get that and immediately after the "bad" experience, they stop using the oil. Well, the so-called bad reaction is actually just a cleansing action performed by the health-promoting oil when it draws toxins up to the surface of your skin.
It's trying to help you clear the toxins that have been "hiding" beneath your skin for years. Once the toxins are cleared, your skin will glow. It's a healing crisis actually.
So, don't stop using coconut oil for your skin or eating it for health benefits. It's really a super food that not other foods can compare in terms of its benefits on our health and skin.
